Registry & Gifts

Your presence on our special day is truly the greatest gift we could ask for. We know many of you are traveling to Maui to celebrate with us, and that means the world!

For those who wish to honor us with a gift, we’ve chosen to focus on experiences and our future. We’d be incredibly grateful for contributions towards our dream honeymoon to New Zealand in 2027 and building our future life together. Your generosity, whether you’re able to join us or celebrate from afar, will help us create cherished memories and set us up for this exciting new chapter.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. We can’t wait to celebrate with you this February!

Mahalo,
Sarah & Michael

We recommend using Google Flight Tracker and booking your flight as early as possible—ideally 6 to 9 months in advance. Maui is a popular destination, so early booking helps you get the best rates and ensures smoother travel plans.

We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the Maui Coast Hotel—see the Lodging section for details. Since the venue is in Kihei, it’s a convenient option for the wedding day. We recommend booking 6 to 9 months in advance. You’re also welcome to explore other beautiful areas of Maui!

Booking your car rental about 3 to 6 months in advance is a good idea. Maui has so much to explore, and having your own transportation will make it easy to visit all the beautiful sights. Plus, booking early can often save you money and ensure you get the vehicle you want.

Please see your invitation. You can reach out by email for clarification: thepetkers26@gmail.com

Yes, Uber and Lyft operate on Maui and are useful in more populated areas. However, availability can be limited in remote regions, and prices may vary based on distance and demand.

If you booked a room with our hotel block at Maui Coast Hotel, a shuttle is available.

Maui’s micro-climates mean you’ll want to pack layers. February brings rain to Upcountry and Hana, and Haleakala summit temperatures can drop to 30°F—so bundle up if you’re heading there. For the Central, West, and South sides of the island, it is sunny and warm. The ocean stays a comfortable mid-70s°F.

Make sure to only use “reef safe” sunscreen!

Our love story

December 2019

We met

Mike, a seasoned Lead Brewer, had been a fixture at Maui Brewing for two years. Now, another brewer was joining the team: Sarah. She was moving to the island for a new job as a Shift Brewer and flew out in December to find a place to live and attend the company’s holiday party.

After Mike had finished his shift, he spotted Sarah in the taproom. He approached her, and with a mischievous grin, asked, “Wanna go sling some fruit?” Sarah, perplexed, looked at him and said, “Uh, what?” “You heard me,” he said, trying to sound serious. “You wanna sling some fruit?”

They ended up behind the brewery, a slingshot in hand. As they launched overripe fruit into the open field, a new friendship blossomed.

August 2020

First kiss

Mike and Sarah had been woven into the same friend group for months, spending the entire pandemic together. Their bond grew stronger every day, but it was strictly platonic. Though Mike tried to make a move a few times, Sarah, cautious of shifting the group’s dynamic, turned him down.

Eventually, Sarah could no longer ignore the feelings growing in her heart. After a day at the beach, they found themselves at a deserted resort, where they impulsively broke into the pool for a late-night swim. In the middle of the water, Mike took her hand, pulling her closer for a first kiss that felt long overdue.

The very next day, Sarah left for a month to be in her best friend’s wedding in Virginia. While miles apart, they texted constantly, already making plans for their first official date as soon as she was back home.

October 2020

Started dating

The long wait was finally over—Sarah was back on Maui. For their first official date, they chose a romantic sunset dinner at Merriman’s, a swanky restaurant right on the water on the island’s West side. They were ready to go all out: a bottle of red wine, lamb lollipops, and lobster covered their table.

Then, the sky opened up. As other diners scrambled for cover, Sarah and Mike stayed put, unbothered, continuing to eat their meals in the downpour. They laughed and had the best date either of them had ever been on. Without question, they knew they were meant for each other.

June 2021

Moved in together

During the pandemic, Sarah was living in a small, but cozy ohana in Waiehu. It was tight in space – especially with having a baby deer and two cats. When Mike’s roommates moved to Nevada, he found himself needing a new place. Given how difficult it is to find housing on Maui, it made perfect sense for them to move in together. Though Mike was allergic and unsure about Sarah’s cats, he happily moved in, quickly becoming a daily Zyrtec-taking cat dad.

December 31, 2023

Engaged

It started with a trip to Colorado to visit Sarah’s family for Christmas. Mike got to meet more of Sarah’s (very large) family and spend Christmas in Denver. They spent a weekend at Cooper mountain snowboarding and hot tubbing with family and friends.

After that, they split off with Mike’s childhood best friend and his wife to Golden, CO. Mike surprised Sarah by renting an Airbnb mansion for a week. The four of them had dinner cook-offs, played in the snow, visited breweries, and relaxed.

Sarah woke up on the morning New Years Eve to Mike not being in the bed. Not thinking much of it, she got ready for the day. Mike went upstairs to see if she was ready to go, and when she was, he took her hand and walked her down the grand staircase covered in rose pedals, leading to the fireplace and the window with a mountain view of a lifetime. Above the fireplace was a banner that said “Marry me?”

She realized what was happening and was so shocked and excited. He told her how much he loved her and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and everything in between. With tears in her eyes, she without hesitation said, “YES!

They celebrated with friends and family all day, then went to a New Years Eve Avalanche vs Sharks hockey game. There were fireworks on the ice and it was a perfect way to ring in the new year as well as their engagement.

A few days later, they were ready to embark on a road trip to Texas with Mike’s best friend and his wife. Making fun stops on the way, including in New Mexico at a hot springs spa. After finally arriving in Texas, they spent a few days exploring, playing frisbee golf, and eating BBQ. Once they made it home to Maui, it was back to work, but also time to start planning a wedding!
